apply · work exchange
Earn your stay. Live on the land. Be part of what's being built.
Not everyone has spare cash — but everyone has something to contribute. The Zen Village Work Exchange is a real co-creation: trade your time, skills, and presence for housing, food, and access to the rhythms of the village.
This isn't a free vacation, and it isn't a gig. It's a residency in a working sanctuary — kitchens to keep alive, land to tend, fires to hold, retreats to support, build projects to ship. People who do this well become extended family.
Where we need contribution
- 🌱 Farm & Permaculture — planting, harvesting, food forest, composting, regenerative work
- 🛠️ Build & Maintenance — carpentry, repairs, painting, creative builds, upkeep
- 🍳 Kitchen & Hospitality — prep, cooking, serving, hosting, guest support
- 🔥 Fire & Sauna — tending sauna, hot tub, fire circles, ceremonial heat
- 🧘 Wellness & Teaching — yoga, breathwork, meditation, movement (share your practice)
- 📸 Content & Creative — photo, video, writing, design — tell the story of this place
- 💻 Tech & Digital — web, automation, systems, ops — keep the village humming
- 🌿 Stewardship — keeping spaces beautiful, energy clear, the field coherent
What we ask for
- A minimum stay of 2 weeks (longer preferred — the rhythm rewards depth)
- 20–25 hours of focused contribution per week, 5 days on
- Respect for shared space, the land, and the community
- Willingness to step into what's needed — not just what you prefer
- Good energy. Genuine presence. Humility with your hands.
What you receive
- A bed in shared housing on the land
- Three meals a day (mostly plant-forward, made on site)
- Access to sauna, river, hot tub, trails
- Participation in retreats, ceremonies, and gatherings as the rhythm allows
- Real apprenticeship — work alongside people building something rare
